Other people in that thread mention the same thing. Not them returning an Apple Care call - they called me out of the blue wanting to do remote diagnostics. Also odd is that Apple support called me directly about it twice after I posted in that discussion thread. There are a lot of posts already about WiFi issues on the m2 mini (for a computer that’s only been in the wild a little over a week). Hard to say if the wifi/Ethernet issues are all minis or just defective ones. If money wasn‘t a concern I would have taken the ultra, but now I will maybe upgrade in 4 years again… I can take a look on the temperature and it is about 40 degrees celsius with a maxed out project. The normal spinning rate of the fans are around 1300 - I bring it down to 1100 with an app and it is dead silent. I got myself a Mac Studio Max for my iMac 2017 5k 27 which is still a great machine but I had troubles with my projects in 96kHz and the noise level was a problem when I wanted to record vocals in the same room when the project was in a later stage. If you had to buy a new computer you will not feel as bad when there is a new one coming around. So either you need a computer now - because you can’t work with your current machine on your evolving projects - then you have to pull the trigger. As somebody said once: There is never the right time to buy a computer!Ī few months later there will always be a better one coming up.
